For this project, I set out to design a white garment for a character in the children’s book “James and the Giant Peach.” I drew inspiration from the 1950s, particularly Dior’s bar jacket. My goal was to create a blend of reality and fantasy, so I didn’t try to conceal the human playing a spider but instead merged the two concepts. I used the peplum on the jacket to create a spider-like body shape and pleated the sleeves to resemble spider legs.
